This is an experimental page about the cacti flora of Patagonia,
i.e. southern Argentina and Chile. The aim is to provide information
about the cacti of the area as well as their hardiness under
different conditions. Of course, photographs are provided as well.
Everybody is welcome to contribute to this site, either by providing pictures or experience (or both). If you have and are willing to share them, you may send me your pictures and they will be included here. Proper credit to the author is of course guaranteed.
The following is a list containing links to more specific information by genus. This list is probably not complete. Note that at least one species (Austrocactus spiniflorus) is included which has a distribution (central Cile) clearly outside of what would normally be considered "Patagonia". I think it belongs here, however, since it is a member of an otherwise "typically patagonian" genus.
